Hospital Executives Training 10 Days Course New course format Future decision-makers in developing countries are increasingly dependent on experience abroad. Through their experience in networks in United State, and institutions embedded in the political, economic and technological system, managers from partner countries have a chance to engage in discussions on those international issues shaping future concerns in the industrial countries and, in this way, gain insights on how to structure the policy sphere in their own countries. This course aims to provide practice-oriented qualifications for future managers and decision-makers from the economic, political and social areas. The programme’s target groups are junior executives and managers from the institutional and private sector spheres aligned with Johns Hopkins University, the participants then return to their organizations in China, taking up their jobs in the partner countries once again, contributing, in this way, to continuity and sustainability. Course background Although hospitals play a decisive role in a state heath care system, the quality and availability of their services are limited in many countries, as are management efficiency and effectiveness, and the standards of buildings and equipment. Current reform projects on hospital sector reorganization are aimed at improving the quality / effectiveness of clinical access and securing the financial sustainability of hospital services, for example, by introducing local and country-wide health insurance. Reforming the health and hospital sector can only succeed if the key positions in hospital management are filled in the most effective way. These challenges require training top-level managers in the skills most needed in hospital management. Aims and objectives This advanced training program is designed to enable leading health personnel in China to become familiar with the modern management instruments needed in guaranteeing effective, efficient and needs-oriented management in health care facilities and, in this way, take on a multiplier role in implementing reform in the hospital sector in their own countries. On completion of the course, participants will be able to: • Understand and apply resource management concepts (personnel, finance, and material resources) and the processes and strategies needed in specific hospital sectors • Communicate effectively and develop their leadership and team building abilities • Apply modern Change Management and Innovation Management concepts to optimise structures • Analyse existing hospital service policies and enhance their alignment within the local and national context Target group Target groups comprise future top-level managers in a number of facilities who, after returning to their jobs, will not only be capable of taking on an expert and innovative management role in their own hospital, but play their part as Centers of Excellence, pools of ideas and initial contacts for the hospital management of the future. 2006~2007 Course For details, please contact us |
